Garrison Keillor at 80

  • The Mabel Tainter 205 Main Street East Menomonie, WI, 54751 United States (map)

Garrison Keillor is the most skilled humorist since Mark Twain. He wrote and managed the weekly Prairie Home Companion show for four decades, and a lifetime set of lighthearted books. In retirement, he is doing only what he loves best -- making people laugh and writing. A happy man. He offered to come to Menomonie to do a benefit performance -- we swiftly accepted.

Your ticket purchase is a donation -- 20% to the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts, 80% to Transforming Individual Lives Today, Inc. -- TILT -- which is a nonprofit formed in 2009 by Angela Ross to support chartible gifts to Ugandan orphans, and adopted by Dr Dan and Isabelle Johnson in 2015 after their son Alec was knocked into Lake Superior and drowned, to continue supporting his many charitable projects: Scholarships for impoverished students in Uganda and economic self-help projects there, support for a mission in Haiti to rescue children from abusive orphanages and place them with families, and many other projects.

This receipt acknowledges your tax-deductible contribution of $125 to Transforming Individual Lives Today, a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization, EIN 26-3722 065 and Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts, EIN 39-0806184. No goods or services were provided to the donor in return for this contribution.
